Diane Friend Lecturer and Research Assistant Professor diane.friend @ umontana.edu Personal home page Research Group page MS in Geology, University of Montana, 2000 BA in Astronomy and Mathematics, San Diego State University, 1977 Diane Friend joined the Department of Physics and Astronomy in 1990. Professor Friend's current research interests are in science education. She is currently a faculty partner of the Big Sky Science Partnership, an NSF funded Math/Science Partnership Program for which Diane was Co-PI during its first three years at UM. During her time at UM, Diane has taught lecture and lab courses in introductory astronomy, physical science for elementary education majors, and a special topics course on the celestial navigation of Lewis and Clark.
